Yamaha Venturer 1200

Posted on March 25, 2007 | Posted by | No Comments

This is first generation Yamaha XVZ 1200. It has sat a couple years outdoors so needs a good clean up. This bike is huge and very difficult to work on because of it’s complexity. This bike was Yamaha’s first cruiser and it shares the basic motor with the VMAX muscle bike. This bike has onboard stereo, CB radio, intercom hookups, and an onboard air compressor with computer adjusted suspension. This is a very high tech bike for 1983 and cost a premium when new. With a little work and the luggage repainted it should be a great scoot. It’s a low mile bike in good mechanical shape.

I have owned nearly every make and model of vintage Japanese motorcycle as well as a number of other Europeans and more modern bikes. I do everything from simple fixes to full restorations. I also travel and ride every chance I get.
