Rejetting for POD Air Filters on a 1983 Yamaha Midnight Maxim

Nice article about cleaning out carbs. I have not jumped into this project yet. This goes straight into my question. K&N make high flow pod air filters. It reads that carb rejetting is required. Do you have any sage like advice on this project for a 1983 Yamaha Midnight maxim? Thank you for you time and great articles.

For a 4 cylinder Maxim you will probably want to up-jet one or two sizes if you are going to pods. Every bike is a little different – the smaller bikes are less susceptible to needing a rejet, but that doesn’t mean it won’t need one.

Run it, check your plugs, see how it goes. Report back.
